I loooveeee Neroli

neroli

It is also known as the orange blossom. Its intensely floral, sweet, citrusy and exotic scent captivates me again and again. I like to use it in my essences because it goes perfectly with other essential oils.

The name is said to come from the Italian princess Anne-Marie de la Tremoille (Countess Nerola), who used the oil as a perfume and to scent her bath water and gloves.

It is produced by distilling the flowers of the bitter orange tree (Citrus aurantium). The delicate white or light pink flowers are freshly hand-picked early in the morning from late April to early May. The delicate buds are harvested in the morning, because that’s when the aroma is most concentrated.

But since it takes six kilograms of bitter orange blossoms to produce 5 ml of neroli essential oil, orange blossom oil is one of the most expensive essential oils on the market.

This essential oil is one of the most popular essential oils because not only does it have great therapeutic properties, but it also has the most amazing scent. It has a strong relaxing effect on the body and mind, relieves muscle spasms, calms the heartbeat and has a wonderful rejuvenating and regenerating effect on the skin, helps prevent ugly scars and fights stretch marks.

It is also a popular ingredient for making traditional scented colognes and perfumes. I have used it in the Sweet Dreams essence to help you fall into a peaceful sleep.
